Alfred Sacchetti, MD

To nearly everyone at Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center, from the nurses and radiology technicians to housekeepers and dietary aides, Dr. Alfred Sacchetti is simply "Al." He's the person in the emergency department who will check your blood pressure, treat your child's fever or float a pacemaker in a critically ill patient.

Recognized as a "Hero of Emergency Medicine" by the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP), Dr. Sacchetti is chief of emergency services at Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center. A trusted member of the staff for 25 years, Dr. Sacchetti leads one of the most recognized teams of doctors, physician assistants, nurses and technicians in the country.

Robert Calvo, MD

How do you distinguish a compassionate physician? For Robert Calvo, MD, it's when patients' families hug him in shopping malls and restaurants in appreciation of caring for their loved one. Described as "bright, insightful and scholarly" by his colleagues, the chief of the section of hematology/oncology at Lourdes Medical Center of Burlington County has been caring for patients at the hospital since 1968.

He takes pride in balancing the dilemma of those patients who can be treated successfully at the community hospital level with those who require the specialized care of a university setting. "Patients are always the name of the game," he said. "They're the reason for everything we do."

Following a cocktail reception, guests enjoyed musical tunes provided by the renowned Kenny I Orchestra and a formal dinner with a brief program. The evening was filled with emotion, fun and friendship. The event raised over $100,000 a portion of which will benefit the Breast Cancer/Digital mammography initiative. "We are very thankful for the tremendous support from our Board, physicians, volunteers, associates, and partners in healthcare." said chairpersons, Anne and Dr. Steven Kirshner.
