Other Treatment Options
Medications
Medications are used to treat many heart conditions like hypertension, angina, and arrhythmias. When medications do not provide the best solutions, a number of alternative treatment methods can be offered including investigational medications which are only available in a limited number of cardiac centers.Pacemakers, Automatic Implanted Cardiac Defibrillators, and Radio Frequency Ablation techniques are used for the treatment of arrhythmias in Lourdes' busy Electrophysiology Laboratory.
Peripheral Angioplasty
The techniques cardiologists use to open narrowings in coronary arteries are similar to those used to open narrow blood vessels in other parts of the body. Many Lourdes cardiologists are certified to perform angioplasty procedures on renal arteries, the distal aorta, and arteries in the upper part of the leg.For more information about the New Jersey Heart Institute at Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center, please call 856-365-4072.
