Lourdes Names Cancer Program Director

Willingboro, NJ – The Lourdes Health System recently named Denise Cortland,
RN, BA of Marlton, as Administrator for the Cancer Program at Lourdes
Medical Center of Burlington County. In this role, she will oversee all
aspects of the hospital' Commission on Cancer-approved Cancer Program,
which is a member of the University of Pennsylvania Cancer Network.
Additional responsibilities include the Cancer Registry and Women's
Center at Lourdes. Cortland, who has been with the Lourdes Health
System since 1978, most recently was Director of Information Services
for the system. She has served in a number of other roles at Lourdes
including OR Educator/Care Manager, coordinator of the Kidney
Procurement Team and a member of the cardiac surgical team.
A nursing graduate of Hahnemann Medical School and College, Cortland received her bachelor's degree from Rowan University, Glassboro, where she received the Robert Donaghay Medallion Award for Excellence in Nursing.
In addition to her professional responsibilities, Cortland is involved in many community activities and organizations including as a member of the executive board of the Cherokee High School Drama Guild, a member of the Cherokee Band Boosters and an adult mentor for the Cherokee Students Together for Autism Research (STARS) organization. Most recently, she was recognized as a 2006 Susan B. Komen's, Philadelphia affiliate "Celebrate Life" honoree.
